There's nothing better than a bit of bathroom indulgence on a cold night - here's your complete kit for relaxation the ethical way. I try to incorporate this ritual into my daily evening post-baby-bedtime "me" time.

1. Swap perfumed, chemical-laden bubble bath for the natural option - a few drops of your favourite essential oil mixed into plain base oil, or even a glass of skin-nourishing milk, swirled into bath water. Time needed: 1 minute (plus 30 min to soak and enjoy)

2. Turn oft the lights and spark up a candle instead - saving on electricity and creating a chilled-out atmosphere. Time needed: 1 minute (or 30 min if you need to drive to your local convenience store to buy a candle)

3. Scrub up with a natural exfoliator - porridge oats are ideal, or, if you want a stronger scrub, try mixing sea salt with a little base oil. Time needed: 2-3 min.

4. Dry off and wrap up in eco cotton made by an ethical cooperatives or fair trade producers. Time needed: 1 min (enjoyment - eternal).
