My weekend at the BetterYou event in LA

Doesn’t that setting look gorgeous??

That’s how I spent my Saturday – because this was the location of the BetterYou launch event in LA this weekend. I was lucky enough to receive an invite from my friends at Melrose PR, and had an amazing time on the beaches of Santa Monica on a warm, sunny afternoon in February!

Honestly, I couldn’t believe it was February – it felt like it was the middle of summer :)

This event was great because it combined my three loves: food, fitness, and health!

It was also awesome meeting Hope, the founder of BetterYou. She created BetterYou after working in the health and fitness industry for nearly 10 years, because she was struck by the consistently high turnover of members and staff. The providers, such as personal trainers and massage therapists, were coming in to establish their career but quickly left when they only took home 20% of their earnings. Similarly, consumers were underwhelmed with a lack of personal attention, high costs and the inconvenience of working out in a large gym environment. BetterYou emerged as the perfect solution for consumers and providers looking for something better. Think of it as an online concierge service or community with the best providers in the fitness, health and beauty industries offering their services at an affordable price.

At the event on Saturday, I met a ton of amazing people, got to experience some awesome workouts, and had some delicious food! Here are some of the highlights:

DELICIOUS treats from the women at Running with Forks! They are personal chefs who create individual menu plans and cater as well. These almond and date based balls have zero added sugars, and are little bites of heaven. I’m trying to convince Running with Forks to do a guest post to share the recipe for these, because they are amazing!

They also make cupcakes :)

I was excited to meet a bunch of celebrity fitness experts and trainers, like Teddy Bass!

Oh, and did I mention there was yoga on the beach? So relaxing and what a gorgeous setting!

There were also complimentary massages, also on the beach.

I seriously could have stayed there forever. Thanks MelrosePR and Seven Artist Management for creating such an amazing event!
