Cleansing oil works by attaching emulsifying agents to oil-based debris, and encapsulating them so that they can be easily removed from the skin surface. After you use a cleansing oil, your favourite cleanser can penetrate deeper into the pores to remove excess oil and metabolic waste.
We all know that clean skin is the foundation of beauty, but most people don't realize that even the best organic foaming cleansers usually leave behind a film of oil-based debris, such as waterproof makeup, pollutants and sebum. That's why cleansing oil is especially beneficial.
Even though people with oily skins tend to shun from using oil-based products on their skins, cleansing oil does wonders for all skin conditions, even to allergy- and acne-prone skins or skin affected with psoriasis and dermatitis.
You can even use cleansing oil around eye area – I use my own Organic Cleansing Oil (Petite Marie Organics) to remove waterproof liner and mascara, and cleansing oil worked faster than any eye makeup remover, leaving gentle eye area soft and moisturized. In fact, oily skins can especially benefit from using cleansing oil as it melts the excess oil on the skin without irritation, unlike most aggressive salicylic-acid based cleansers. For added skin benefits, cleansing oils contain antioxidants such as acai and calendula.
Here's how to use Organic Cleansing Oil:
- Shake a tablespoon of the cleansing oil onto dry hands and massage it onto dry face with gentle circular motions.
- Continue massaging paying special attention to congested areas such as eyes, including the hairline.
- Wet hands and massage over the cleansing oil creating a milky emulsion.
- Remove the remaining cleansing oil with warm water. Skin is glowing and clean, ready for a deep cleanse.
- Perform a second cleanse using your regular foaming or milky cleanser. Results: luminous skin, completely clear pores.
- To remove eye and lip makeup with cleansing oil, pour a small amount on the cotton ball and use it as your regular makeup remover.
Oil cleansing method should be done regularly. Give your skin a few days to adjust and adapt to being clean and clear of pore-blocking debris. Cleansing with oil also helps invigorate the skin tone because you will be massaging more actively. Very soon, you will see the glowing, clear skin without congestion, bumps, or dilated pores.
