Shungite (shungit) is the unique natural carbon mineral containing unique type of carbon called fullerene. Fullerene is similar to diamond and graphite.  In 1996 Professor Robert F. Curl, Jr., Professor Sir Harold W. Kroto and Professor Richard E. Smalley were awarded Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of fullerene.
