Crystallized root of angelica is helpful in promoting blood flow. It was used in 19th century to help women raise libido and enjoy sensual pleasures. Angelica root is used in culinary recipes and as a chocolate filling. Here's a wonderfully easy aphrodisiac tonic with Angelica.

Carmelite water was invented in 1611 by Carmelite monks in Paris who called it "Eau de Carmes". Carmelite water was used as a perfume and toilet water, and was also taken internally as a cordial.

Ingredients:

2 cups vodka or other grain alcohol (unscented)

3 tablespoons dried angelica leaves, roots and/or stalks

3 tablespoons dried lemon balm leaves

1 tablespoon coriander seed, crushed

1 nutmeg, cut into strips

2 tablespoons cloves

1 cinnamon stick

Method:

Pour the alcohol into a bottle or a jar.

Add all ingredients, cover tightly and shake.

Leave in a warm place for three weeks, shaking every day.

Strain into a sterilized bottle and store in a cool place.

Use topically or internally in moderation (make sure you have reached the legal age for drinking alcohol). The good starting dose is 1 tablespoon. You can also buy angelica in tinctures or caplets.
